I haven't been motivated to upload pictures lately, so I thought I would do one big post covering about a month's worth of pictures and news, so get ready...this is a long one. Feel free to skim the text. The pictures pretty much say it all.
However...don't skim this...with email, texting, facebook, etc, I have neglected our poor blog with the latest Hicks news. We found out at the end of July and received ultrasound confirmation just this morning that I am in fact 12 weeks pregnant. We're expecting #3 around March 25, 2010. We're excited, but with Mylie and Coley so much on-the-go, we really don't have much time to sit around and talk about this new little person. We'll keep you updated as we get more details.
On to the latest and greatest...
Mylie started preschool yesterday. I was nervous how she would do at a new school, me not working/being there and handle the "potty" situation. She did wonderfully. We dropped her off, put her bag in her cubbie, looked at her classroom and off she went. She did ask to come back out and give David a hug, but after that, she didn't give us a second thought. I was excited to get back and pick her up and hear all about her adventures. She did tell me that for snack they had "pink marshmallows and a couple of raisins." I asked her if she got any juice and she said "no." They did get apple juice. She said it was so fun because they have "2 playgrounds." I asked her if she made any new friends and she said "Yes. I played with the car and slides." When I asked if she got in trouble for pushing or got sat in time out, she said she did and started talking about kids she went to Wee School with in Roanoke. Funny. The teacher didn't tell me she got in trouble, so overall, I think she had a great day and seems excited to go back.

We took the girls up to the crest of the Sandia's over the weekend. The closer we drove to the top, the darker the clouds got and the lower the temperature dropped. Once we got to the top it was 48 degrees, lightening/thundering and then started to rain. We got a cute picture, got yelled at by the park ranger for trying to walk up to the observation deck while it was lightening, feared that we would drop Mylie in the HUGE potty and hole in the bathrooms when she really needed to go, got back in the car and drove back home.

We had date nights last weekend. David and Mylie went with Papa (aka Ralph) to watch a HS football game and Coley and I went with Nonna (aka Carole) and Catherine to eat Chinese food. It was a good night. Mylie was so excited to go out with David...Momma & Coley-free. I got Mylie ready to go a little early and she could barely wait to get in the car and go. David said she loved going to the game. She got to eat nachos, a hot dog and drink a big-girl Sprite. And Coley loved going to the Chinese restaurant and getting undivided attention from her momma, Nonna and aunt. She also caught the attention of the owner/manager of the Chinese restaurant. He would walk by and tell her how she looked like a Hollywood star and that when she made her millions, she couldn't forget about her Chinese uncle. He requested that she purchase him a Hummer. He kept us entertained...and then started to get annoying. Ha!

We've been here for about a month now and we are just now starting to get into a routine since Mylie started preschool. Last week the girls were driving me absolutely nutty. Coley was crying about everything and Mylie was whining about everything else. I needed to occupy them so I could regain my sanity. How could I forget about water play??? Forget getting wet and making a mess all over the floor...I just let them go crazy with water, spoons, bowls, etc. Luckily, I did get my brain back and they were content for a good 30 minutes.

Although we really did grow to love the heat and humidity of Texas (well, maybe not the heat in the summer) you really cannot beat Albuquerque's summer weather. Every night around 7pm, the temp starts to drop and it begins to really feel amazing outside. Talking about "the weather" is usually filler conversation...but David and I really talk about the weather every day. We are just loving it. And so are the girls because we typically take a walk almost every night. We are currently living in the neighborhood where David grew up, so he gets nostalgic/sentimental when he watches the girls run across the golf course and rolling down the hills just like he did as a little kid. He also let the air out of the gate guards tires and threw rocks at people as they walked by...but hopefully we won't have to deal with that kind of fun anytime soon.

Grandma's 80th Birthday CelebrationWe went to Carlsbad to celebrate Grandma Dobbs's 80th birthday. We had such a good weekend! Cortez for dinner Friday night, playing in the water (Mylie out front with Cindy and Coley in the sink with Aunt Sylvia), eating BBQ, watching the girls go nuts with excitement. They loved seeing everyone and truly enjoyed being the center of attention. We did stay away some so that the adults could talk about things other than napping schedules, potty training, and the girls likes and dislikes. We just love our Dobbs side of the family and are so glad to be close again to enjoy weekends like this!

Grandma & Aunt Carrie

Aunt Sylvia & Coley playing in the water

The girls showing Grandma something fascinating, I'm sure.

I don't know how many pictures we have of me standing on a chair in the kitchen helping Grandma make something yummy. Aunt Carrie also commented on how familiar this scene was to her as well. So sweet.

Mylie helped Grandpa fix the tile on the front porch

Coley loved being by Grandma. Seems like she followed her around all weekend.
