Welcome Fall!

Is it just me or do the days really fly by fast? I can't believe that we are 4 days into October. We've been keeping ourselves busy with Wee School, seeing friends, trips to the zoo and hanging out with David every chance we get. We had a wonderful summer, but I was ready to see fall arrive. Here are some pictures of our adventures lately. David took off a Friday a few weeks back and we headed to the zoo. The mornings have been beautiful so we've been going to the Ft Worth Zoo just about once a week.

The same weekend, we also did a little picnic at a park close by. Mylie really likes to wander around outside and Coley likes to lay around, so we did a little of both.

Coley turned 5 months on the 18th. She is rolling from her belly to back, sleeping 9-10 hours most nights (thank you, Lord!), and smiles and jabbers lots. She is really strong and we're now working on sitting up. She still spends a lot of her time laying down, in her bouncer or swing, but she's beginning to like the Bumbo especially since she has the little tray accessory where we can hook toys for her to play with. With both girls, I've waited to start cereal/baby food. I'm not sure why I put it off, but we'll be starting cereal sometime this week.

The girls and I ventured to First Monday in Canton to shop a little and hang out with my college roommates Lee and Dorrie. We had a great time. Here are all the kiddos with Auntie Dorrie.

We have a busy October, so I'll be posting more pictures as the fun happens!

Tiny Dancer

Wee School started up again so that means Mylie is a dancing girl again! She doesn't have any signature "moves" in this video (other than the non-dancing related swiping of the bottle away from sweet GiGi), but is still entertaining to watch nonetheless. I was hiding behind the door while videoing this and Mylie's teacher said her faces are priceless. She said she can just picture her "out dancing when she's 18..." Oh my. That will be against the rules.

This week...

My cousin and her girls made it through Ike (they're in The Woodlands), but came up to DFW when they realized they could be without power for a while. Plus, the girls school was canceled until Monday. So while they are up here seeing family and having a little trip away, poor Cousin Darren is back home cutting up tree branches, sleeping without AC and had to go back to work. Melissa also stopped over on her lunch so we got to see little Corbin again too.

Splash Park

Mylie and I love this park. The playground, walking trail and splash park are all wonderful and so close to our house. It was pretty warm Friday so I took Mylie to get wet. She was a little leery of the dumping water buckets and spray fountains at first, but once she saw the water drain, she was hooked and was pretty comfortable running everywhere. And you can tell that Coley enjoyed herself too. She slept on a picnic table under the awning. I can't wait for her to be running around in the water with Mylie.

Same striped shirt...totally different babies

I cannot get over how two sisters can look so similar yet so different...if that makes sense.

Special Weekend

What a special weekend! My Uncle Larry has been pastor at Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Garland for 25 years and his congregation put together a very special celebration service for them. My mom and brother Ryan came into town to attend the service and also spend some time with us. We went up to Durant to pick up my grandma, spent the night and then all went to the service Sunday morning.

David is teaching Mylie some Mozart...not really...probably more like Chop Sticks.

After having dinner at Bubba's in Durant, we needed to let the grease air out of our clothes, so we played outside for a little bit. Then we all got attacked by mosquitoes.

After the service, there was a really nice lunch for everyone. Here is my cousin Melissa, her little boy Corbin, my cousin Scott and my brother Ryan.

Mylie enjoyed a cupcake for lunch. Actually, I think that was all she ate for lunch.

Mylie LOVES her Auntie Edda!

Even though we were stuffed after lunch at church, we still had just enough room to go to Joe T Garcia's in Ft Worth for dinner. Yum.

Snow Cones & Hot, Humid Texas Nights

Friday night we took Mylie to get a snow cone and then to the park to play. Despite the heat and humidity, we were having so much fun that none of us wanted to leave.
