What...I'm only 2 months behind???

Wow...I've never been so behind on posting pics on our blog. For all that have time (or even read this blog anymore...isn't everyone on Facebook now?), I have 3 postings below:

"Christmastime is Here..."
Friends from Texas!
Mylie Turns 3!

Enjoy!

"Christmastime Is Here..."

We had a wonderful first Christmas back in Albuquerque. The weather was so chilly, we had a dusting of snow earlier on in the week and everyone was in the Christmas spirit! We were just as busy as ever this year...

The girls and I spent an afternoon making Christmas rice crispy treats...believe it or not, I have never made these before in my life. Christmas sugar cookies and icing are still my favorite, but the girls really liked making a mess with the rice crispies.

The girls are still fascinated by the lights and ornaments. Everyday I had to remind them to not unplug the lights, take the ornaments off the tree, etc. I finally gave in and let them play with these bells. In fact, I still think one or two of them are under Mylie's bed.

We started our Christmas celebrations at our house Christmas Eve Eve. We got the girls in their jammies, made and put out food for the reindeers, put cookies and milk out for Santa, wrote Santa a little note and hit the sack!

We woke up the morning of Christmas Eve and Santa fulfilled our request and visited our house early! Mylie was surprised to see that he had snacked on his cookies and did drink all his milk! The girls got new Christmas jammies, a bowling set, a new guitar and other little fun things. They also got 2 little fish, Nemo and Dorrie, however, after a few days in their fish tank, we lost Nemo and Dorrie followed shortly. Funny story...David took Dorrie to "flush" her, only he forgot to actually flush the toilet. A little while later, Mylie went to go use the potty and found her beloved friend. The expression on her face...oh my goodness. I told her we were going to have to get new fish at Walmart and that eased her concerns.

Here is David's beloved gift. He designed these shoes on Nike.com. He patiently checked the Nike website almost daily to see when the shoes would be finished, shipped and then arriving at our house. I tried to hide them from him and just let him open them on Christmas, but since he was checking the tracking info, he knew that they had been delivered. So he got to see them early. I did, however, still wrap them and stick them under the tree.

The Christmas festivities with the families begin...

We went to Christmas Eve Communion with the Hicks's...

Then off to my mom's house...

This is the look right here, ladies...the look from David that won me over. Especially with the cigar in his mouth. Could you resist either???

Many, many, many thanks, Uncle Ryan for the enormous, enormous tent that takes 2 people to put together, is bigger than any room in our house and that the girls incessantly ask to be put up. I just love crawling around the floor, in nylon, 7 months pregnant to put it together. I'll call you next time they ask to play in Dora's castle. Ha!

The girls got "The Night Before Christmas" in their stockings this year, so we started a new tradition of reading this book before bed as well as reading a book about the Birth of Christ. They loved reading both! And actually sat still through the entire books! (And no comments on Mylie's paci either...we have tried to trash it, but hearing her go into hysterics is not so fun. One day...ahhh...one day.)

We usually spend Christmas morning with my dad and Cindy at Dad's house. We spent Christmas morning at Cindy's this year because a few weeks before Christmas my dad fell 6 feet off his ladder while hanging Christmas lights. He broke both wrists and had surgery on both to put in pins and plates. He is doing well, but it did slow him down some...not much, for all that know my dad...but some. We are just happy he didn't hurt himself worse!

We spent the afternoon and evening with the Hicks' opening presents and having a yummy lunch. We took the girls home for quick naps (for me and David too!) and then went back for posole. We had lots of desserts and spent the evening catching up with the Schafer family.

We had such a wonderful holiday season and we hope yours was too!

Friends from Texas!

We had so much fun when our friends from the Ft Worth area came to visit us in early December. Felicia, Camille and Baby Eli, Heather and Maci flew out to spend a long weekend with us. We filled our days with playing, going to Explora Kids Museum, going out to eat, walking in the bitter cold in Old Town and just having fun. We tried to spend time outside, but the high never got above 32 degrees during the day...very cold! We are so thankful that they came to visit us! They are forever friends!

Mylie Turns 3!

Our sweet Mylie turned 3 at the end of November. What a joy she is to our family! She absolutely loves going to preschool, Bible Study Fellowship and church. She loves helping around the house, playing outside, watching Caillou, coloring with markers and using scissors and really just exploring (aka getting into everything I try to keep her out of). She definitely is a first born in that she is extremely independent and pushes her limits, but she is also understands that she needs to obey, listen carefully and be a good example for Coley. We just love our My-my, Mylers, Mylie Jo. We can't wait to see what the years ahead bring for her!

Fall Fun

We've been having a good time this fall season! It seems our weekly schedule has become pretty busy with preschool, doctor's appointments, bible study, grocery store trips, etc...so we try to sneak in some fun as much as we can.

Grandpa Dobbs has some pretty big trees in his front yard that drop quite a few leaves, so we went to introduce the girls to jumping in the leaves.

Mylie was a little hesitant at first...

but she warmed up to the idea of jumping in the leaves...

and eventually enjoyed rolling around in them!

Halloween!!!

My mom invited us all over for pizza, pumpkin painting and Halloween cookie decorating on Hallow's Eve! Poor Coley got so sick with the stomach flu (all weekend!) so she and David stayed home Friday night.

Mylie painting her pumpkin...

and decorating her cookies...

Here's the group...Courtney (Dan's daughter), Mylie, Uncle RyRy, Grami, GranDan & Chelsea (Dan's daughter)

And I have no idea why there is this space here...but scroll down for more pics.

Our poor sick girl. She really didn't feel well all weekend. She was running a fever, having the worst diapers and really just wanted to be held. We started to put her Halloween costume on her and make the grandparents-house trip, but we only got her pants on before she started to cry. Fortunately, she is feeling much better now!

David and Mylie had a fun time carving their pumpkins. While Coley and I made a trip to the doctor's office, David had the great idea to save the pumpkin seeds and roast them. Mylie loved them!

After we made the rounds to the grandparents houses, David and Mylie hit a few houses around the neighborhood. Luckily, it was chilly, so Mylie's costume kept her warm.

And here's sweet Coley feeling tons better!

Houston's in ABQ

Where have we been? I guess I've been slacking.

However, the Houston's coming to visit us in ABQ is a fantastic reason to get out the camera and put up some new pictures. We had such a great time with some of our most favorite people! As soon as we moved to ABQ, I asked Heidi if they wanted to come out for the balloon fiesta...and they said yes! We are so lucky to have friends so wonderful! From TN to NM...thanks Houston's for coming to visit us!

I also have lots more pictures from the weekend, but blogger is not cooperating with me wanting to add more pictures, so the balloon fiesta is as good as it will get for today. I'll add others very soon!
