A Pretty Day to Play Outside
Monday was such a pretty day. I think it got up to 85 degrees. So we decided it would be fun to spend the afternoon and early evening outside. Mylie loves to push her cart up and down the sidewalk and really seems to like being outside.

And here's just a really cute picture of Mylie in the bath. Her hair is getting so long!
Also, FYI...Baby Coley is due 8 weeks from today. Yikes! And Mylie will be 15 months on the 28th. Where is the time going???

Grumpy Little Valentine
Mylie was a little grump on Valentine's Day. However, she is cutting her 4th molar, so I'd be a little grumpy too.

Here she is climbing on the mats at Wee School...still grumpy.
However, for all of you that know Mylie, food will always cheer this gal up.

And finally a happy little girl when her friend Camille came over to play so Camille's parents could go enjoy their Valentine's Day together. David is traveling with work, so we missed out on Valentine's Day together, but he did send us some beautiful tulips (the picture won't upload for some reason) and we have plans to go out and celebrate once he gets back.
Hope you all had a sweet Valentine's Day!

Meet Boomer
My mom and her husband Dan were in town a few weeks back and we went to Babe's Chicken Dinner for lunch. If you've ever been or heard of Babe's, you know that even at the most random times of the day, you may end up waiting 30 minutes to 2 hours for a table...and you wait outside. We decided to wait for the Sunday lunch crowd to die down and we went to Babe's around 1:30. We had to wait for at least 30 minutes outside in the really cold wind. Neither Mylie or I were dressed to wait outside in the wind, so David took her across the street to this little gift shop where they walked around and looked at all the little gifts. They were gone about 20 minutes and when they came back, Mylie was holding the little doggie (the one she's snuggling above). I laughed and asked David what Mylie suckered him into. He said that as they were walking by the stuffed animals, Mylie leaned over and picked up this dog. He let her hold it for a little while and when it was time to go, he took it from her and put it back with the other animals. Mylie started to cry and wouldn't stop until he gave her the dog back. So, he bought it for her. She was smiling when they came out of the store and she now cuddles this dog as she goes to sleep, grabs for him when she gets out of her crib in the mornings and will sometimes just carry him around the house. It is precious! So we gladly welcome Boomer (that's his name) to the family!

Small Steps
Mylie is getting closer and closer each day to becoming a walking girl. She took her first steps around her 1st birthday in November, but has been taking her time otherwise. The attached video is quick, so watch closely to see her take off!

"What the heck?"
If Mylie could speak, that is exactly the sentence she would have said many times this week. For months now, Mylie has had free reign of the kitchen cabinets. I have had to pull the disinfectant spray from her little hands too many times recently, so David installed the baby locks on the cabinet doors. She has caught on now and has resorted to opening and closing the warming drawer of the stove. However, there is nothing interesting in it and me being 6 months pregnant, I'm not too into cooking these days, so the drawer never gets warm.
David and his college roommates used to have a phrase for those preventing fun from happening (most of the time it was me) and I'm sure Mylie has thought this phrase often this week: "Fun Haters."

Christmas 2007
Christmas is great every year, but it was especially wonderful this year with Mylie excited about boxes, wrapping paper and bows...and sometimes the nice gifts inside them.
We had our little Christmas at home before we packed up the car and headed back to NM for the holidays.
David got me and "the girls" the most adorable book...The Daring Book for Girls. We have lots of adventures ahead of us!
Mylie is playing the drums with her new music kit from her dad.
Christmas Eve Communion with David's family...
We spend Christmas Eve at my mom's house. Here's Mylie being goofy before opening presents from Grami and GranDan.
And Christmas morning at Grandpa Dobbs's house. These were the boxes she thoroughly enjoyed.
We spent Christmas day afternoon with David's parents (not sure where the camera was but we have LOTS of video) and then headed to Pagosa Springs, CO at the end of the week with David's family for New Year's. David has been going to this lodge with his family and his parents best friends, the Russell's, for many, many years. He has lots of memories at that lodge and I know he was thrilled to take Mylie up and include her in some of the most fun times in his life.

Mylie says, "So this is how you make me all those quilts!"
We went ice skating on the pond in Pagosa with Mylie's Uncle Mike.

Happy New Year!!!
The long drive home...
Despite the extremely cold weather in ABQ and in Pagosa, we had such a great time seeing our family. We know next year will be so much fun as Mylie gets older and becomes more excited about Christmas and we are also excited to have another little girl joining our family. We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!
