We're home...

We were discharged from the hospital Sunday afternoon after a great stay at the hospital. Mylie greeted us when we got home with the best welcome ever and went straight to Coley's car seat to pat her and lay her head on Coley's blanket. She was excited to have us home.

Things are going good so far. And we are even more tired than we expected to be. We're trying our hardest to keep things "normal" for Mylie, but she is well aware that things are somewhat different now. She is still such a sweet girl and we are even more proud of her now that she is the big sister.

Coley is a very good baby. So far, she is not easily upset and when she gets upset, it does not take much to quiet her down. We're not sure who she looks like...or if she really looks like any of us...but we are completely taken with her and are so proud to have two daughters.

Travel Companion

David asked Mylie if she would like to go with him to Austin yesterday for his meetings. She accepted, but then realized that she would have to participate in meetings on topics other than yogurt, dogs named Martie, and would be required to respond with words other than "more" so she opted to stay home with me.

Mylie loves to dance

Mylie and I go up to church 2 days a week for Wee School where I teach the 2 year old class and she goes to the 1 year old class to play. She has benefited so much by being around other kids and just having some time independent of me. Last week during our chapel time, I noticed that when the music came on, she really seemed to love it and was actually picking up on the clapping, spinning and other moves. So this morning, I was sure to bring my camera because not only is she precious doing all her moves, she is also pretty hysterical. Enjoy the video!

Catching up...

Here's what we've been doing the last few weeks...

My dad, brother Ryan and David put up a wall and french doors in what used to be our dining room, but is now a office/guest room so baby Coley can have her own room. David still has a few things to finish, so we'll post an "after" picture soon.

Mylie and I spent a few days in Albuquerque visiting everyone and Aunt Cheryl, Aunt Catherine, my mom and David's mom Carole gave me and Coley a baby shower. Mylie was showered with big sister gifts too and she also received a couple of her own babies.

Here's Mylie not really liking the ears the Easter Bunny left her before church this morning. She would leave them on for a few seconds and shake her head until they started to fall off. The Easter Bunny also left her a super cool pair of sunglasses, but she prefers to carry those around with her; not actually wear them.

Happy Easter from the Hicks!

Snow in March

The news mentioned that there was snow in the forecast, but I'm a skeptic and thought it really meant rain. I was wrong. This is around 11:30am this morning...

And this is around 3:30pm...

Mylie has the croup (again) and has not been able to enjoy the snow. The barking seal (this is what she sounds like) and I have put on our comfy cozies and are staying warm inside.

Usually, Martie the lab is outside during the day, but I felt sorry for her today and brought her in...bad day to do so as she has been throwing up from both ends. After christening the laundry room, she has sadly been moved into the garage to recover. She'll live.

And here's Miss Mylie. We were singing Itsy Bitsy Spider in the hallway...trying to cure our cabin fever. Her favorite part is "...down came the rain and WASHED the spider out." We sing "WASHED" very enthusiastically.
